HLA Preparatory School Graduation Requirements
The information on this page constitutes the minimum requirements for an HLA Prep Diploma. It is the parent’s responsibility to help their student build a plan of study that fits the student’s goals. Below is information to help you get started and HLA Prep counselors are available to help answer any questions you may have.
Although HLA Prep’s requirements are in line with the State of FL’s public school requirements, there are some important differences, esp. in the areas of math and science. Please note that when you register with HLA Prep, you do not have to fulfill FL State public school requirements, but only those of HLA Prep.
Concerning Florida college-bound students: College bound students should follow the Florida planning sheets as Florida colleges and Bright Futures Scholarship requires 24 credits with one credit being an online course. Florida also requires 8 electives.
Students must meet the following criteria prior to being issued a diploma from HLA Preparatory School:
Satisfy all payment requirements including Senior fees.
Satisfy all credit requirements (see chart below).
Submit ACT or SAT scores if required for graduation (see below).HLA Prep will require a student to take the ACT or SAT and submit scores to HLA Prep prior to receiving an HLA Prep diploma under the following circumstances:

- Students who request an early graduation. (Prior to age 17 or in less than 4 years of high school). (This does not apply to students taking dual enrollment courses or participating in the Lumerit Scholar program).
- Homeschooled students who enter HLA Prep as a senior with a parent-issued transcript.
- At the discretion of a counselor based on the best interest of the student.
